A Bit About Me
When I was 14 years old my mother took me and my three sisters from our bucolic Williams Bay, Wisconsin, hometown to live on the outskirts of the Potawatomi Indian reservation in Michigan's remote Upper Peninsula. It is this turning point in my life that would set in motion a series of events that would find me pregnant at age 16 by a man 20 years my senior and trapped in an abusive marriage. I have spent two years writing and uncovering the many layers of family dysfunction that included alcoholism, neglect, emotional abuse, and sexual exploitation that weaves an emotionally gripping story of survival against all odds.

I'm excited to announce the publication of my first book Angel in the Upper Peninsula - A Memoir in October of 2020. The first in a series of three books, Angel in the Upper Peninsula tells the poignant story of separation, loss, abuse, sexual exploitation and survival in the remote land of Michigan's Upper Peninsula from age 14 to age 20. Five decades later, the truth has finally been told.
